When you receive notice that the ad quality review status has been updated for one of your creatives, you'll receive a reason for the change. This page explains each of the reasons, and the steps you can take to fix any issues.
Reason |
Explanation |
Automatic Download Prompt
|
Please be advised that your creative has been denied as your landing page URL triggers an automatic download. Such automatic downloads are considered deceptive and are strictly prohibited from running on the platform. For more information, please see Creative Policies under the Account menu. Please remove the auto-download prompt from the creative's landing page and choose a URL that links to a site that does not require the user to automatically download content. |
Deceptive
|
Please be advised that your creative has been denied because it appears to be deceptive, and is prohibited on the platform. Creatives are considered deceptive when they mislead the user into clicking. Additionally, creatives that feature system warnings, appear to be part of the user's native operating system, or state that a users operating system is at risk, are examples of deceptive advertising. For more information, please see Creative Policies under the Account menu. Please consider:
|
Adult-Provocative |
Please be advised that your creative has been denied because it contains content that it is too adult/provocative to run on the platform. For more information, please see Creative Policies under the Account menu. Please:
|
Adult-Explicit |
Please be advised that your creative has been denied due to adult content. Adult content is not permitted on the platform. Repeat occurrences of uploading adult content may result in your account being permanently disabled. For more information, please see Creative Policies under the Account menu. |
Misappropriated Brand Name/Logo
|
Please note that the creative you have submitted has been denied as it is using another company's brand name. We cannot run creatives that are using a brand name or logo that does not belong to the Advertiser or is not licensed to the Advertiser. For more information, please see Creative Policies under the Account menu. Please remove any logos/brand names that are not licensed to you. Once you have made the necessary changes, please archive the denied creative, and submit a new creative for approval. Your creative will then automatically re-enter our Ad Quality queue for review. |
Incorrect Brand Category
|
Please note that your creative has been denied because it has been incorrectly attributed on the brand level. All restricted content types (Alcohol, Firearms and Weapons, Gambling, Tobacco / Smoking Products) must be accurately declared before eligibility can be granted. |
Rotating Landing Page
|
Please be advised that your creative has been placed on hold, as the resolved URL does not direct to the same landing page in all geographical (geo) regions. All creatives must click through to one landing page with related content in the specified geo. All creatives must behave the same way in all geographic locations. SiteScout has the ability to accurately simulate geographical targeting for all creatives. Landing Page / Destination URL is the landing page to which your ad links must always resolve to the same final URL, and never redirect to a different URL than that which was seen when the campaign was first submitted for review by the platform. |
Fake News Article
|
Please be advised that your creative has been placed on hold because your landing page suggests that the user is visiting a news or lifestyle site. It is our opinion that your landing page is an advertorial or advertisement, and therefore we require that the page prominently communicate this to users (e.g. by including "Advertisement", "Sponsored Content", or "Advertorial" in large and bold font type). Once you have made the necessary revisions to the landing page, please contact us to have your creative re-reviewed. |
Mismatch of Banners and Landing Page
|
Please be advised that the content of your creative does not match the content on your landing page. In order to help maintain a positive user experience, we require that the landing page and creative content are reasonably related. |
Broken Landing Page
|
Unfortunately, we cannot approve your creative on the platform at this time as the destination URL is broken/invalid. Please re-upload a functioning URL to your creative. Once you have made the necessary changes, your creative will automatically re-enter our Ad Quality queue for review, and we will be more than happy to approve it. |
Creative Not Rendering |
Please note that your creative has been placed on hold as it is not rendering properly. This was done to ensure that you do not experience any campaign performance issues. Once you have made the necessary changes, please archive the inactive creative and submit a new one for approval. Your creative will then automatically re-enter our Ad Quality queue for review. |

SSL Compliance Issue
|
Please note that your creative has been denied since it has been uploaded as secure (SSL Enabled) but is actually not secure. In order for us to run the creative on the platform, you will need to either uncheck the secure tag field when uploading creative or ensure that the creative is indeed secure |
Impression Tracker Issue
|
Please be advised that your creative has been placed on hold as the click URL is misconfigured as an impression tracker. Unfortunately, an incorrect impression tracking URL can trigger false positives for auto-redirects with our exchange partners. In order for your creative to run on the platform, you will need to leave the impression tracking URL field blank. Please let us know when the necessary changes have been made and we will be more than happy to re-review your creative. |
No Creative Text / Branding |
Please be advised that we have placed your creative on hold as there is no clear offer (within the image) to the landing page. The platform requires adding some branding and/or text to the creative in order to ensure that users are well informed of the content prior to clicking through to the landing page. |
Ad Tag Opening in New Window |
Please be advised that we have placed your creative on hold as it does not open a new window once clicked on. As per our creative policy: Ads Must Open New Window. All ads must open a new window or tab, rather than navigate the user away from the publishers website. For more information, please see Creative Policies under the Account menu. |
International Dating / Mail-Order Bride |
Please be advised that your creative has been denied as it does not comply with our creative policy. For more information please see Creative Policies under the Account menu. Generally, dating creatives are permitted to run on the platform only if the advertiser abides by the following rules:
|
MRAID |
Please note that your ad server tag has been denied as it should be uploaded as an MRAID tag. Interstitials should be uploaded as MRAID if they require MRAID. If your interstitial expands to fill the entire area of the screen, it is only allowed to do so if it is uploaded as MRAID. Additionally, MRAID tags must be configured correctly as an interstitial size (i.e. 320x480, 480x320, 1024x768, 768x1024). This ensures that ad server tags do not run on mobile web inventory as this causes issues with our exchange/publisher partners. Once you have archived the ad tag and uploaded as an MRAID tag, we will ensure to re-review it in a timely manner. |
Download / Play Now
|
Please note that your creative has been denied. We are not able to approve Download/Play Now/Install creatives as they violate the following section of our creative policy: Functional Guidelines: your ads must not utilize any element designed to misleadingly generate a click (e.g. fake Close button on an ad; fake chat boxes; fake download/play buttons; or, imitating the look or user interface of any common software application such as a Windows or Mac operating system message or System Warning box). Please consider adding more text and images to the creative, such that the offer is clearer and reflects the content of the landing page. |
Ad Does Not Click Through to Landing Page | Please note that your creative has been placed on hold because it does not click through to a landing page. In order for your creative to run on our platform it must function correctly by directing the user to a landing page domain upon click. |
Arbitrage / Rotating Brands |
Please be advised that your creative has been denied because it appears to be rotating brands. For more information please see Creative Policies under the Account menu. The platform must uphold the requirements of its exchange partners to correctly declare the landing page domain when bidding. This allows publishers to block advertisers, which they do not want to run on their sites. When a creative contains multiple brands in rotation, it is fundamentally impossible for the platform to declare a correct and accurate landing page domain. As such, creatives may run that are in violation of publisher block lists. As a natural consequence of the requirement to correctly declare a landing page domain, we cannot allow creatives that meet the following scenarios or others like them:
