Prohibited & Sensitive Content Types

Campaigns that are eligible to run on the SiteScout RTB platform must adhere to the ad quality standards of our publishers and exchange partners. Functionally, all ads must not lead directly or indirectly to malware, spyware, viruses, auto-downloaded software, or automatically redirect to various websites. Here is a list of content that is strictly prohibited from running on SiteScout RTB:

  • Adult Content
  • Provocative/Suggestive Content
  • Deceptive Ads (includes ads that are deceptive for mobile devices)
  • Overt/Offensive Ads
  • Misleading/Deceptive Messages (e.g. Alert-style creative/system warnings/fake errors)
  • Mail-Order Bride sites
  • Illegal Substances/Content/Materials
  • Logos not licensed to the advertiser (Whatsapp, Facebook logos)

In general, content that is branded with a clear, defined subject will be allowed to run on the SiteScout RTB. Ads containing sensitive content types are also allowed to run, however their reach is restricted and may be blocked by numerous publishers. These include:

  • Alcohol
  • Gambling
  • Tobacco
  • Firearms/Weapons
  • Religion
  • Politics
  • Military
  • Sexual health topics
  • Dating
  • Affiliate Offers (Belly Fat, Business Opportunity, Skin/Wrinkle, Muscle, Insurance)

Alert Style Creatives

Alert-style creatives are not permitted on SiteScout RTB. These creatives may also be called "System Warnings" or "Fake Errors". They:

  • Simulate elements of an operating system or browser, and could be reasonably confused by the user

  • Contain symbols which could cause the user to believe that they are looking at a system notification rather than an ad
